NATCHEZ, MS (WLBT) - Gov. Phil Bryant and two companies announced Wednesday about 60 new jobs will be coming to Natchez.
An agreement between The Blain Companies and Fores Canada will create the new energy-related jobs, Bryant said.
The two companies are partnering to produce frac sand, which is used by the oil and gas industry for hydraulic fracturing of conventional and unconventional reservoirs, such as shale wells, to enhance oil and natural gas recovery, according to a press release.
Fores will stall a handling facility and loading and storage facility in Natchez. Blain is investing $7 million in Magnolia Frac Sand, and Fores is investing $27 million.
Today’s announcement marks Bryant’s 100th day in office.
