Adams County woman charged with animal cruelty | Crime
An Adams County woman was arrested Thursday after officers found two dead dogs and several other neglected dogs at a home the woman was renting.
Latoya Burden, 25, was charged with animal cruelty and released Thursday on $1,000 bond, according to a press release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
On March 29, deputies responded to Burden's residence on Martin Luther King Street in Natchez in response to a citizen’s complaint, according to the ACSO.
Deputies reportedly found the decaying body of an adult dog outside the home and two young dogs tied under the house with cable wires.
Inside the home, deputies discovered the body of a dead puppy in a front room and four malnourished puppies in a back room.
According to reports, there was no sign of food or water for the animals at the house.
The Natchez-Adams County Humane Society is now caring for the six rescued dogs.
