Man kills wife at Natchez gas station, himself | Crime

Authorities say a man fatally shot his wife and then himself in Natchez Wednesday morning.

Around 5:40 a.m., law enforcement responded to a shots fired call at the Homochitto Street Exxon gas station.

Deputies discovered Erica Holt, an employee of the gas station, sitting in her car in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. Holt later died from her injuries, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Two other deputies followed the shooting suspect, Erica Holt’s husband, Daniel Holt, who fled the scene.

Police say Daniel Holt lost control of his vehicle and abandoned it on the Melrose-Montebello Parkway in Natchez.

Deputies found Daniel Holt dead from self-inflicted injuries from the gun used to kill his wife, according to the ACSO.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Natchez Police Department in this case.
